Meet Mandy: the Coach Behind AV8R Strength
Hey y’all! Aviation has been part of my life from the beginning. I grew up on an airport, raised by a pilot, and spent my early life around hangars, runways, and everything that comes with flying long before I got into fitness.
I earned my pilot’s license and then served in the Air Force as a crew chief. That’s where I really saw what aviation demands of the body and mind—long days, constant fatigue, and the expectation to perform at a high level no matter what.
That experience is what pulled me into coaching. I’ve spent years working with athletes, military units, and pilots in high-pressure environments where there’s no room for feeling “off.” My goal has always been simple: help people stay strong, mobile, and ready to perform when it matters most.
After the Air Force, I went on to earned a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) and later my M.S. in Tactical Strength and Conditioning at The Citadel. I kept coaching throughout, working in both athletic and military settings, while continuing to fly when I could.
What’s never changed is this—I'm a pilot myself, and I understand firsthand what aviation does to your body and your schedule. That’s why AV8R Strength exists: to give pilots training that actually fits the demands of flying, so they can stay healthy, sharp, and capable for the long haul.
